Explore Alaska’s crowning jewel from the sky, soaring above sprawling tundra and rugged peaks, on the Denali Glacier Landing! This epic Denali helicopter tour takes you from the helicopter base just outside Denali National Park to the vast Yanert Icefield. With your pilot as your guide, you’ll explore this massive glacier & see for yourself how the Alaskan landscape was carved. You’ll have approximately 15-20 minutes of time to walk around the glacier and explore the ever-changing landscape of this river of ice. But your glacier landing isn’t the only exciting part of this Denali helicopter tour! In total, Denali Glacier Landing features approximately 50 minutes of flight time, narrated in headphones by your pilot! You’ll fly over sweeping tundra, across the jagged ridgelines of the Alaska Range, and if you’re lucky even catch a glimpse of Denali itself! As you watch below, keep your trained for local residents: caribou, moose, bear, Dall sheep, and more.

The Denali Glacier Landing Begins with a safety briefing & glacier over-boot fitting at the helicopter base just outside of Denali National Park. You’ll then climb aboard the helicopter for your exciting flight to the glacier. This tour holds just 6 guests in addition to the pilot. So, you’ll be sure to have excellent views on this Denali helicopter tour. Taking off, you’ll fly for around 25 minutes to Yanert Glacier, crossing both Tundra and mountains alike. Your pilot will keep you entertained throughout the flight with stories and local knowledge of the surrounding ecosystem. Upon touching down, your pilot will guide you through 15 minutes of glacier exploration. Search for blue ice, mulans, and more! As your Denali helicopter tour returns you to base, you’ll cross more epic glaciers and Alaskan landscapes. Your guide will be sure to point out any of the local wildlife they see as well! Just over 2 hours after the Denali Glacier Landing began, you’ll touch back down at the base with memories and stunning photos to last a lifetime.

    How many passengers per helicopter?

Answer: Each helicopter can seat up to 6 passengers, provided the weight and balance calculations work out in each aircraft.

What if my tour group is larger than 6 people?

Answer: There are several helicopters available at the base and can make accommodations for larger groups with advance notice. If your group exceeds 6 passengers and requires the use of multiple aircraft, we instruct the pilots to coordinate landing locations on the glacier so that you can have your landing time together.

Will we see wildlife on the tour?

Answer: There is a good chance wildlife will be seen during your tour, either in flight or while on the glacier. However, this is not a wildlife viewing tour and we cannot guarantee you will see wildlife.

Can children come on the tour?

Answer: Absolutely! We are more than happy to accommodate children of all ages. Lap children under 2 fly for free!

What happens if the weather is too bad to fly?

Answer: If the weather is just not cooperating and the pilots determine that it’s too bad to fly, we’ll do our best to reschedule you to a later time of day that works for you. If you choose not to reschedule or we can’t find a time that works for you, we will refund you.

Answer: This tour does require a moderate level of fitness in order to load/unload the helicopter and navigate on icy/uneven terrain. Please contact one of our agents if you have further questions about the ability level required for this tour.
