With both oar rafts and paddle rafts, this experience is perfect for experienced rafters and first-timers alike! With the oar raft, all you need to do is sit back, hold on tight, and take it all in. On the paddle raft, a great option for those who want to be more involved in the rafting experience, you’ll be expected to be an active participant following your expert guide’s instructions as you head down the river. Are there rapids on this tour?

Answer: Yes, there is stretch of the river that has Class III & IV rapids. Your guide is very experienced, so they will guide you through smoothly.

What should we wear and bring?

Answer: This tour operates rain or shine, and rain is common as we lie in a temperate rainforest! For comfort, we typically recommend non-cotton base layers, like polyester or wool, yoga pants, long johns, or snug-fitting clothes to wear underneath the drysuit. Additionally bring a rain jacket and 2 pairs of non-cotton socks to help stay warm (your feet will be dry but, they will be sitting in the bottom of the raft). Finally, if you wear glasses, bring eyeglass retainers like Chums or Croakies

    What is provided?

Answer: We will provide you with, all necessary rafting gear & guides, GCX3 Breathable Gull Drysuits, Type 5 Personal Floatation Device PFD, a helmet, river shoes, transportation to and from the river, courtesy shuttle from Hotel to Excursion, and finally a safe location to store your personal belongings during the raft trip.

What is the difference between the oar boat & paddle raft?

Answer: With an Oar Boat Rider, you can hold on and enjoy the adventure as your guide navigates you downriver. This option allows rafting in Alaska to be feasible for almost anyone. With a paddle raft, you will actively paddle through the waves with your guide. The Paddle Rafter demands a higher activity level than riding along in an oar boat. This option is the best for the more adventurous crowd.
