Glacier 4×4 Adventure

Arriving

One of the best Alaska cruise tours for adventure-lovers in search of glorious mountain vistas, the brand-new Skagway Glacier 4×4 Adventure is an exclusive ATV tour that takes travelers into the gorgeous wilds near Skagway. You’ll travel up high to the peaks of a remote range and visit a hidden Skagway glacier nestled above a stunning bright-blue meltwater lake where you’ll have time to explore and take in the glory. Keep your eyes peeled as your expert guide drives your ATV up toward the heights, as caribou, brown bear, and Dall sheep sightings are common. You’ll cover six miles of stunning landscapes, passing across wild tundra and through ancient old-growth forest. Not to mention the glacial lakes and snow-capped peaks that will frame your journey! The highlight of many a visitor’s outing is the traverse across a high alpine ridgeline high above famous Lake Bennett. Other guests, though, cite calving chunks of massive glacier ice as their most memorable moment! Whichever piece of the journey most inspires you, this one-of-a-kind Skagway glacier adventure — surely one of the best Alaska cruise tours for nature-lovers — is sure to leave you with fond memories and lovely photos!

This adventure extravaganza begins with pick-up from the Skagway cruise docks. From here, you’ll move toward the 4×4 base, just across the border in beautiful British Columbia. Your highly knowledgeable local guide will give you an intro to the area before striking out with your group into the wilderness. You’ll board a brand-new 4×4 ATV and start off toward Paddy’s Peak, a stunning and secluded feature that few outsiders have laid eyes on! Hold on tight and prepare yourself for the view as you make your way around the final turn, as soon you’ll find yourself in a field of fireweed beside a cascading alpine glacier! With views of Paddy’s Peak, tantalizing tundra, and sky-scraping Alaskan ranges, you’ll see for yourself why we’re confident not only in calling this unique tour one of the best Alaska cruise tours for adventurous souls, but also one of the all-around best Alaska cruise tours out of Skagway!

    4x4 mountain adventureAmnon and Heni
This was such a great adventure, especially considering that the rest of our group took the train ride through the cloudy mountains, whereas we were with Bill Thomas above the treeline. The first part of the trip was with a young lady who had much to tell us about the mountains, lake, trees. After an hour's drive, we got to Bill and the ATV. Also met Peter, who lives up in the wilderness with his daughter. Bill was a great driver, great guide, overflowing with information and enthusiasm. We were thrilled to be out there away from the hordes of tourists, breathing the air in Gds country, overlooking Lake Bennnet, Paddy's Peak and the tourqoise lake off the glacier, many lovely wildflowers, rushing streams. WOW! It was as unforgetable adventure. Thank you , Bill.

Great adventureThis tour is great. Only in its second year so not many people know about it, but I have to say that it was one of the best we ever took. We didn't want to do the WhitePass train as we would seem to be just inside spectators. On this 4x4 tour, we saw the same kind of scenery as the train, but we were actively part of the environment. My kids 13 and 18 loved it, as well as my parents in their 70s. Very personalized tour as you sit about 4 or so in an ATV with a driver. Our driver was very nice and made for a great tour guide. We had lunch at the top of one of the mountains overlooking a beautiful lake. Even though they forgot our vegetarian lunches (so we had to pick the meat off our sandwiches), the owner made up for it by offering us free popcorn from his store in town. Very nice gesture! And good popcorn. Highly recommend this trip!

Super fun!It is hard to pick the right excursion when searching online. This is an excellent tour group that is locally owned and operated. They meet your at the cruise ship pier and take you 4000 feet into BC where you meet your guides for a stellar 4x4 adventure. Absolutely the best excursion!

Glacier 4x4Amazing views. Friendly guides. Great lunch. Would highly recommend this one of a kind excursion. An amazing trip up the mountain for some breathtaking thrills and views. Enjoyed the ride up the trail and being able to take a short hike to see the glacier at the top of the mountain. If you're lucky enough you'll get to drive some down the mountain.

Glacier 4x4 AdventureThis was one of the best excursions that my wife and I have ever participated in! By far one of the most beautiful scenic tours available in the mountains. Our tour group was the best & our tour guide by far the most gracious & accommodating! Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to experience the wilderness up close & personal! I rate this a Five Star Excursion!!

The real dealIf you enjoy getting into the mountains and going for a scenic ride this is the excursion for you. You ride up a dirt mountain road in a side by side and then take some time to look through your binoculars for animals. On the drive back you have time to stop along the road for pictures of the beautiful scenery. The tour guides were great and we enjoyed getting muddy. Just a warning that snow may prevent the guide from driving all the way up the trail.
