Like all our Ketchikan shore tours, this 3-hour and 45-minute adventure begins with convenient pick-up near the cruise docks, where you’ll be met by your friendly guide. While your knowledgeable leader heads up the pack on your Mahoney Lake UTV Offroad Safari through the lush temperate rainforest, there will be plenty of stops to learn more about the fascinating ecology and history of the area, including tales of Ward Cove Pulp Mill. You’ll pass views of the George Inlet Fjords & other stunning vistas on your exhilarating journey to the lake. A highlight of the Mahoney Lake UTV Offroad Safari tour is a stopover at a backcountry campsite to sit around the glowing coals of a campfire. Here, you’ll enjoy smokin’ reindeer link served on a warm bun and a cup of simmering chili. Minimum Age	All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Licensed drivers under the age of 18 must have a licensed legal guardian with them in the vehicle., The minimum age for this tour is 8-years-old.
Accessibility	Not recommended for anyone with neck and/or back injuries or expectant mothers., This tour is not suitable for wheelchairs., This tour is not recommended for those with poor physical condition or those who are intolerant or unwilling to get wet or cold.
Other Restrictions	Tours are sold by the seat. Single guests & groups with odd numbers may be asked to be paired up with another guest depending on the current capacity of the tour. There is a halfway point on the tour where there's a chance to switch drivers.
Cancellation Policy	Cancel up to 14-days before your tour for a refund, less any non-refundable fees., If for any reason the tour is canceled (due to unpermitting weather, for example), or if your cruise ship's schedule changes, you will receive a refund minus any non-refundable fees.

Do we need previous experience to drive the UTVs?

Answer: Nope! If you can drive a car, you can drive the UTVs. They are fully automatic and require simple steering.

What should we wear and bring?

Answer: Arriving at the Tongass National Rainforest you should expect chilly, wet temperatures. The average temperature in July is 64 degrees fahrenheit. You may get wet, dirty or dusty, so dress appropriately. Closed toe shoes are required. Additional sweatshirts are available for purchase in our gift shop. Raingear is provided on tour.

What if our ship is delayed or doesn't make it into port? Refund?

Answer: It's very rare that a ship is delayed into port, but in those cases, we will try our best to work with you to reschedule the tour to a later time. If that is not a possibility or your ship doesn't make it into port, we will refund you.
