Description

Discover the essence of Alaska's inaugural capital city with the guidance of a local expert! Embark on your Simply Amazing Sitka Tour starting from the Harrigan Centennial Hall, where you'll board a spacious passenger van. Venturing south along Sitka's scenic roadways, keep an eye out for majestic bald eagles soaring above and Sitka Black Tail deer grazing amidst the lush foliage. As you continue around the edge of Silver Bay, encircled by towering peaks, be on the lookout for sightings of Humpback and Minke whales (during certain times of the year), and stop for opportunities for memorable photographs!

Continuing our exploration on the Simply Amazing Sitka Tour, our next stop brings us to The Fortress of the Bear, a compassionate haven for Alaskan bears in need. Here, you'll experience close-up views and connect with our resident Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears and Black Bears, gaining insights into their lives and the conservation efforts supporting them.

Next, we venture to The Alaskan Raptor Center, a sanctuary dedicated to the rehabilitation of birds of prey. Marvel at the state-of-the-art flight room and encounter a variety of rescued eagles, owls, and other majestic raptors native to Southeast Alaska.

Concluding our excursion, we arrive at Sitka National Historical Park, a sanctuary of temperate rainforest rich in cultural heritage. Traverse the park's meandering trails, adorned with historic totem poles, and learn about the clash between the Sheetka Kwan Kiksadi Clan and Russian American troops in the 19th century. Guests can opt for a leisurely stroll through the park or immerse themselves in the park's cultural center, featuring knowledgeable interpreters and captivating exhibits showcasing traditional Alaskan techniques such as carving, fur work, beading, and metalworking.

The Simply Amazing Sitka Tour offers the best of Sitka and will leave you with unforgettable memories!
