Upon reaching the Chilkoot River Valley, you will have the opportunity to experience Alaskan wildlife, including bears, eagles, mountain goats, and even spawning salmon. Though we cannot guarantee wildlife on any tours, the Chilkoot Canoe Wildlife Safari will provide you with one of the best chances to glimpse these incredible creatures in the wild. Hop aboard this 6.5-hour tour to experience wild Alaska, the historic Fort Seward, and the beauty of the Lynn Canal.

This breathtaking tour first takes you from your cruise dock in Skagway to Haines, by way of the Fast Ferry. From here, you will be taken on a short tour of the historic Fort Seward, on your drive up to Lutak Inlet and the Chilkoot Valley, where you will find amazing wildlife viewing opportunities! Your naturalist guide will be along with you to point out the wildlife and share their knowledge of wild Alaska with you. When you arrive at the lake, you will head out in a motor-assisted canoe for approximately 2 hours of serene paddling, surrounded by stunning landscapes and photo opportunities. From here, the Chilkoot Canoe Wildlife Safari will return to Haines for a picnic lunch on the beach, before you travel back on the same Ferry that took you from Skagway to Haines previously.

Accessibility	Guests must weigh under 300lbs. Participants should be confident getting in and out of a canoe, sitting in a canoe for 2 hours, and paddling off and on for 2 hours.
Cancellation Policy	Cancel up to 14-days before your tour for a refund, less any non-refundable fees., If for any reason the tour is canceled (due to unpermitting weather, for example), or if your cruise ship's schedule changes, you will receive a refund minus any non-refundable fees.

Where is the meeting location for this tour?

Answer: You will meet your guides just outside your cruise gates. Please provide accurate cruise details when booking for pick-up purposes. You'll receive detailed meeting instructions with your tour voucher.

Is lunch included on this tour?

Answer: Yes! This tour includes a picnic lunch on a private beach in Haines.

What if our cruise ship is late?

Answer: Though this is extremely rare, we will work with you to try to accommodate you on a later time if your ship is late. If necessary, we will issue a refund if your cruise ship prevents you from making it to the tour on time.
