Ocean Raft Adventure

For More Information

Mon - Sat 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Take one look at the jaw-dropping photos and see why the Ocean Raft Adventure has quickly come into high demand! With the help of the same class of high-powered boat used by US Navy Seals and Coast Guard Rescue teams, this exhilarating Skagway tour takes you on a high-octane journey into the wild beauty of Lynn Canal, North America’s longest and deepest fjord. Hold on tight as your Coast Guard-certified captain and guide take you zipping along the fjord, racing beside towering rock walls, crashing waterfalls, and hidden coves. It’s not all fast, adrenaline-pumping action, however, as there are multiple stops during this fun-packed two-hour adventure for photo opportunities and wildlife viewing (guests on this ocean raft wildlife adventure commonly sight whales, sea lions, seals, and eagles!). There’s no set route on this tour, as your experienced captain adjusts travel on a daily basis according to weather conditions and wildlife cycles, giving you the best possible experience. Just sit tight and enjoy this ultimate Skagway adventure!

With a deep V-hull surrounded by inflatable tubes, your ocean raft wildlife adventure boat is designed for a comfortable ride in any ocean conditions. Further, your full-exposure suit keeps you warm and dry throughout the spectacular journey. You will also be supplied with Oakley goggles and a balaclava. And custom shock-absorbing seats will add to your comfort as your captain takes the powerful boat up to top speed. The amazing Ocean Raft Adventure includes pick-up and return to the cruise docks, as well as transport to and from the boat harbor in Skagway. Seats are limited on this stellar Skagway adventure (17 per boat), so be sure to book well ahead to reserve the ride of your life!

SpectacularOur crew and captain were spectacular. They made sure we were warm and had the time of our lives. Cruising through water and seeing wildlife up close was an incredible experience. Our only desire would have been to have a few more donuts in the water!!! Love it!!!Must do!

Great funIt was my 60th birthday, and a great way to spend it, with very friendly people, beautiful scenery, and adrenaline rush to make me feel 20 :) loved it. One suggestion for organisers, a photographer at a set location with long Lens when Jen was doing donuts, would have been great. I would have loved an action photo :)

Fun Fun Fun May 22, 2018Jen ans Bevin were great guides. The ride was exhilarating and quiet. Lots of bald eagles and a Mt. goat with baby. It was pouring at the start and then sunny. The survival suits were great. If it's raining make sure you wear the goggles and knit hat. The rain is piercing. We are 63 and 65 and loved the excursion. Thank you...

What type of boat is it?

Answer: This is the only US Coast Guard certified open Zodiac tour in Alaska. Our custom-built, 30-ft. RHIB (Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat) is designed to safely operate in virtually any sea conditions. With its deep-V aluminum hull surrounded by an inflatable collar, this Zodiac Hurricane 920 is able to provide a comfortable ride for up to 17 people. This is the same type of vessel used by the Navy Seals and US Coast Guard teams on extreme missions worldwide. We are powered by twin 250-horsepower, four-stroke outboard motors to make us the fastest ocean tour in Alaska!

    Where does this tour go?

Answer: This tour explores the Lynn Canal, which is the longest, deepest fjord in North America and one of the largest in the world, measuring at over 2,000 feet deep. Although it is named a canal, it is actually a fjord, which is a glacially carved U-shaped valley. The Taiya Inlet was an important waterway during the Klondike gold rush, offering passage to the deep-water port of Skagway and, by smaller boat (due to sediment from the Taiya river), the now ghost town of Dyea. These 2 boom towns were gateways to the White Pass and Chilkoot trails.
