If you're looking for an authentic Alaskan wilderness experience that's both comfortable and intimate, the Backcountry Tongass SUV Tour is a must. This 2-hour guided adventure through the world's largest temperate rainforest, the Tongass National Forest, will take you off the beaten path and into the heart of this unique ecosystem. Here, towering trees, winding roads, and stunning vistas await, offering a truly immersive experience.

What sets the Backcountry Tongass SUV Tour apart is its exclusive small group setting—capped at 5 adults (or 7 with children)—which ensures a personal and relaxed atmosphere throughout the journey.

This isn't just about sightseeing; it's about immersing yourself in the raw beauty of Southeast Alaska while learning from a local expert. Your guide will bring their knowledge and passion for the region to life, sharing stories about Alaska's complex logging history and its efforts to preserve its precious old-growth forests. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, you'll walk away with a deeper understanding of the environment and its delicate balance.

As you cruise through the backcountry, you'll have several opportunities to step out and take photos of the sweeping valleys and rugged mountain peaks. To make your experience even more stress-free, your tour starts with a convenient pickup at Berth 3, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

The Backcountry Tongass SUV Tour is perfect for anyone looking to experience Alaska's wilderness without the demands of hiking or roughing it. It combines the thrill of backcountry exploration with the ease of an expertly guided drive, offering an intellectually stimulating and enriching look at one of the most pristine environments in the world.
