Description

This is a four-hour small-group boat trip for people who want to see Sitka the way locals do, out on the water and away from the crowds. You’ll spend the day moving through Sitka Sound by boat, watching wildlife, and stepping onto a quiet island beach most visitors never reach.

We head out in a comfortable, heated boat with room for just six guests. That small size makes a big difference. We have time to slow down, ask questions, and really watch what’s happening. The route isn’t fixed. We follow the weather, tides, and wherever the wildlife is active that day. That flexibility gives us the best chance to see humpback whales, sea otters, sea lions, puffins, bald eagles, and other marine life.

About halfway through the tour, we pull up to a remote island and go ashore, an experience reserved for our small group alone. Boots are provided, and the walk is relaxed and unhurried. You can explore untouched tide pools, wander along driftwood-covered beaches, or simply stand quietly and take in the view. Snacks and warm drinks are served while you’re on land, with no rush to return, enjoy the privilege of privacy.

After the beach stop, we cruise through different coves and channels back to town. It’s often a great time for more wildlife sightings, photos, or simply relaxing and enjoying the scenery. By the end of four hours, most guests feel relaxed, refreshed, and like they’ve seen a real side of coastal Alaska.
