How often do you get the opportunity to soar in a seaplane over spectacular scenery and be dropped off at the door of a remote wilderness lodge for a superb three-course meal by the fireside? Spoil yourself thoroughly while on your Alaskan adventure with the Exclusive Flightseeing & Crab Feast Excursion, which takes you to historic George Inlet Lodge on the far, uninhabited side of Revillagigedo Island. Your DeHavilland Beaver seaplane will take you on a 25-minute journey over towering mountain peaks and deep glacial fjords, coming to rest right by the lodge, where your host will greet you and you will be seated by the fireside to begin your Ketchikan crab feast with Alaskan Amber beer, white wine, and smoked salmon by the crackling log fire. You’ll enjoy a feast of sweet and succulent Dungeness Crab in the inviting ambiance of a converted cannery bunkhouse that made an extraordinary five-year voyage by ocean barge to its current location on the shores of George Inlet Fjord. The Exclusive Flightseeing & Crab Feast Excursion combines luxury and adventure in one exciting package!

For your Ketchikan crab feast adventure, you’ll be picked up from the cruise ship docks for the short ride to the float plane base, where you’ll receive a brief video orientation before boarding your plane for the exhilarating take-off and flight to Revillagigedo Island. Your pilot will perform a gentle touchdown on the still waters of George Inlet Fjord and glide to a stop right at the dock of the Lodge. Then you’ll enjoy a relaxed and convivial meal of fresh romaine salad, succulent Dungeness crab, and rich, creamy cheesecake topped with fresh blueberries while taking in the breathtaking scenic beauty of your wilderness surroundings. Following your meal, you’ll be treated to a narrated drive back to downtown Ketchikan. While you’re in Alaska, a Ketchikan crab feast is an unmissable experience, and this Exclusive Flightseeing & Crab Feast excursion is the ultimate way to enjoy it!

Crab feast and flightseeingThe ride from the dock to the lodge was a pleasure and informative. Our driver was very pleasant and offered tons of information. The crab feast was absolutely delicious and I didn't even mind that we did this part of the excursion prior to the flightseeing and ate crabs for breakfast. I wish I could remember our host's name to give a personal thanks because he was absolutely wonderful. The flightseeing portion was very enjoyable; however, it would have been better if it was narrated and points of interest were brought to our attention.

Wonderful ExperienceThe flight was wonderful. Loved our pilot "Timber" and his local color on the area. The views were majestic. Very nice Cessna 185. The crab feast lived up to our expectations - all you could eat and no extra cost for beverages. The shuttle ride from the Lodge back to town was also enjoyable. Very comfortable, very friendly and informative driver. Definitely one of our most favorite Alaska excursions.

Great Experience! Our party of 5 had a great time with Wilderness Adventure boat ride and crab feast! Amy and Jordan did a great job with the boat ride. Our highlight was Amy coaxing a bald eagle to fly right to our boat. We loved the crab feast as well. Emily and Matt were awesome! They just kept the wine and crab coming! The cheesecake was a huge exclamation point to a great experience!

Terrific! Our catamaran ride with Tory was terrific! She was knowledgeable, funny, and one of the best guides I have ever had! We learned a lot of interesting facts about crabs. We even got to hold them. After a very enjoyable boat tour of the island, we headed to the restaurant for the crab feast....and feast we did! I have never seen so much hot steaming crab in my life. Bethany and all the girls taught us how to crack the shells to get every delicious morsel. Their presentation was hilarious and lots of fun. The food just kept coming! It was by far the best crab I have ever had. The blueberry cheesecake was amazing as well. This excursion was worth every penny! It will not disappoint.

Will we make it back to the ship in time? What if we don't?

Answer: We've never left anyone behind and only schedule tours that work well with your cruise ship's itinerary. We leave plenty of cushion so you can confidently book your trips independently.

Do the flights ever get canceled due to weather?

Answer: Yes, safety is a number one priority, so weather conditions are taken into account each day. In certain cases, the weather can lift and a slight delay will still allow the flight to continue. However, if a flight is canceled completely due to weather circumstances, you will always receive a full refund.

What if our ship is delayed or doesn't make it into port? Refund?

Answer: It's very rare that a ship is delayed into port, but in those cases, we will try our best to work with you to reschedule the tour to a later time. If that is not a possibility or your ship doesn't make it into port, we will of course refund the full cost of the tour.

What should we wear and bring?

Answer: For comfort, we typically recommend long pants, closed-toed shoes and a jacket, as the air temperature will be a few degrees cooler than the ground temperature. Since there is an opportunity to get out of the plane, a rain jacket is advisable as well.

Can you see wildlife from the plane?

Answer: If you have sharp eyes, it's certainly possible to see wildlife on the mountains below. The plane flies low enough to distinguish individual animals, but of course the pilots have to respect local wildlife so it's not an objective of this tour.

    How big are the planes?

Answer: There are a few types of planes used for the tour, and you'll typically be in a group of 6-10 guests on the flight. Everyone gets a window seat on these flights.
