Description

If you think Alaska is all about glaciers and mountains, think again! The Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure offers an unexpected and thrilling dive into Alaska's underwater world. This isn't your typical snorkeling tour — it's a rare opportunity to explore the vibrant, cold-water marine life that thrives along Alaska's rugged coastline. Imagine suiting up in a thick 7mm wetsuit and diving into waters teeming with rockfish, sea stars, jellyfish, and more. It's a true adventure for anyone wanting to see Alaska from a new perspective.

Upon your arrival at Mountain Point, you'll be equipped with high-quality gear. From your wetsuit to your fins, everything is designed to ensure your warmth and comfort. A concise safety briefing from the PADI-certified guides guarantees that you're fully prepared to navigate the cool waters. Once you're submerged, the enchantment of Alaska's marine life unfolds. From tide pools to steep underwater walls, this tour showcases the incredible biodiversity that often goes unnoticed.

The Mountain Point Snorkeling Adventure is a perfect fit for both novices and seasoned snorkelers. With the guidance of experienced instructors, even first-time snorkelers can dive in with confidence. For those who have snorkeled in tropical waters before, this tour will be a completely different experience. The cold, clear Alaskan waters provide visibility unlike any other, making it easier to spot the vibrant colors and intricate details of the marine creatures.

After your underwater exploration, you'll warm up with hot drinks and snacks while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing a swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit, a towel, and a sense of adventure! Hot drinks and snacks are provided after the snorkel.

How cold is the water? Will I be warm enough?

The water temperature is typically around 55°F (13°C), but our high-quality wetsuits are designed to keep you warm and comfortable throughout the experience.

Do I need prior snorkeling experience?

No experience is necessary! This adventure is suitable for beginners, and our guides will provide instruction and support throughout the experience.

Is snorkeling in Alaska worth it?

It might sound unbelievable, but snorkeling in Alaska is incredible! The intertidal zone here is teeming with a diverse array of plants and animals to explore. We supply full 7mm wetsuits, complete with hoods, boots, and gloves, to ensure you stay warm while you’re in the water. These wetsuits work by trapping a thin layer of water that quickly warms to your body temperature. Don’t miss out on this unique experience—it could be the highlight of your cruise!

What is included in this tour?

Everything you need for a safe and comfortable snorkeling experience is included! We offer roundtrip transportation from the downtown cruise ship docks. Each guest is outfitted with a full 7mm Harvey’s or SCUBAPRO wetsuit, along with hoods, boots, and gloves. You’ll also receive high-quality Tusa & SCUBAPRO masks and Twin Jet fins. Prescription masks and optional weight belts for freediving are available upon request. Our experienced guides will provide thorough instruction, in-water supervision, and a one-hour guided tour of the marine life. Beginners are always welcome! Plus, we’ll keep you refreshed with hot beverages and water.

Can I bring my own gear or camera equipment?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, except for full-face masks, as they don’t seal properly with a hood and tend to fog up significantly (trust us, we’ve tried!). That said, packing all your gear for a cruise can be a hassle. While you have the option to bring your own, our equipment is top-of-the-line and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each tour.

We highly recommend bringing a camera or GoPro to capture this unforgettable experience!
