Adventure through the pristine beauty & rugged trails of the rainforest to remote Mahoney Lake in your personal UTV. As you cruise along these thrilling backroads, be sure to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of this natural wonderland while keeping a watchful eye out for wildlife like forest birds, deer, bears, and trout leaping in the lake. Rocking down the gravel road, your trail winds through old-growth forest, offering views of towering Sitka spruce, western hemlock, and western red cedar, as well as superb vistas of Mahoney Lake & Falls. With multiple stopovers to trade, everyone gets to drive. The remote setting & adventurous atmosphere make this a one-of-a-kind among Ketchikan shore tours. Amid stunning natural surroundings, you’ll feel a million miles from any cares!

Like all our Ketchikan shore tours, this 3-hour and 45-minute adventure begins with convenient pick-up near the cruise docks, where you’ll be met by your friendly guide. While your knowledgeable leader heads up the pack on your Mahoney Lake UTV Offroad Safari through the lush temperate rainforest, there will be plenty of stops to learn more about the fascinating ecology and history of the area, including tales of Ward Cove Pulp Mill. You’ll pass views of the George Inlet Fjords & other stunning vistas on your exhilarating journey to the lake. A highlight of the Mahoney Lake UTV Offroad Safari tour is a stopover at a backcountry campsite to sit around the glowing coals of a campfire. Here, you’ll enjoy smokin’ reindeer link served on a warm bun and a cup of simmering chili. Don’t forget to leave room for a mug of hot chocolate or coffee, along with a freshly baked treat for dessert. The tour concludes back at the cruise docks, with plenty of time left in the day to explore historic downtown Ketchikan on your own and complete your relaxing and memorable day in port. Prepare for adventure, and maybe a bit of mud, on the Mahoney Lake UTV Offroad Safari, a thrilling excursion that is sure to delight. Ketchikan shore tours don’t come more fun, or more scenic, than this one!
