Description

Experience the thrill of gold panning on this Seward shore tour, where you’ll learn the art of uncovering Alaskan treasures. Begin your adventure with a hands-on demonstration at our rustic gift shop, where our guides will teach you how to pan like a pro using elevated wooden troughs filled with proven pay dirt. Along the way, enjoy local history and humor for a truly authentic Alaskan experience. With a canvas-covered, log-framed structure to keep you dry, this activity is perfect for rain or shine!

As part of the Seward shore tour, gold panning offers more than just the excitement of finding gold—you may also discover semi-precious stones unique to Alaska. Treasures like Red Jasper, Hematite, Fluorite, Quartz, Amethyst, Red Agate, Tourmaline, and Garnet are waiting to be uncovered. Located near a scenic creek where salmon often run, this activity combines adventure, education, and the chance to take home your own Alaskan gold or gems!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should we wear and bring?

This tour operates rain or shine, and rain is common as we lie in a temperate rainforest! While the gold panning area is covered, for comfort, we typically recommend long pants, closed-toed shoes, warm layers, and a waterproof jacket.

What if our ship is delayed or doesn't make it into port. Refund?

It's very rare that a ship is delayed into port, but in those cases, we will try our best to work with you to reschedule the tour to a later time. If that is not a possibility or your ship doesn't make it into port, we will refund you.

When should we reserve this tour? Can we book it when we arrive to Seward?

This tour, like many others, does operate with limited spacing so advanced reservations are recommended. Often times, last minute reservations or day-of arrivals cannot be accommodated, so we always say that it's best to book the tour as soon as you have an idea that this is the one for you.
