Description
Join the Grand Seward Helicopter Tour, an exclusive experience offered by Alaska Shore Tours, and discover the breathtaking landscapes of Kenai Fjords National Park like never before. This incredible tour blends the thrill of a helicopter flight with two unforgettable landings, allowing you to witness Alaska’s glaciers, icebergs, and wildlife up close.
Your adventure begins with a scenic flight over Resurrection Bay, often called the "Gateway to the Kenai Fjords." As you soar above the rugged coastline, watch for marine wildlife before heading toward Bear Glacier, the largest glacier in the park. From above, you'll take in its stunning ice formations and the massive icebergs that fill Bear Glacier Lagoon, some of which are as large as houses.
The first landing of the Grand Seward Helicopter Tour takes you to the base of Bear Glacier’s towering ice wall, which stands over 100 feet tall. Standing in its shadow, you'll gain a true appreciation for its immense scale and may even witness a calving event as massive chunks of ice crash into the lagoon. You’ll have 30 minutes to explore, take in the icy landscape, and capture once-in-a-lifetime photos before boarding the helicopter for the next stop.
For the second landing, we’ll touch down on a remote Alaskan beach where ancient icebergs have washed ashore. Spend an hour wandering among these towering formations, observing the surrounding flora and fauna, and keeping an eye out for bears foraging nearby. Your experienced pilot/guide will share fascinating insights about the glacier’s history and the unique ecosystem of Kenai Fjords National Park.
