Description

Experience the thrill of a historic train ride combined with an exhilarating downhill bike ride on the White Pass Train and Bike tour, one of our best Skagway shore excursions for adventurers in search of stunning natural beauty! Step aboard the historic White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad and wind your way through the magnificent Skagway Valley up to the awe-inspiring summit of White Pass. Then get on your bike and coast back down the Klondike Highway, stopping along the way to take in historic sites, cascading waterfalls, massive glaciers, and bucketfuls of fresh air against the backdrop of the majestic Sawtooth mountain range. Voted one of the best Skagway shore excursions by numerous satisfied visitors, the White Pass Train and Bike tour ranks high in popularity with travelers on Trip Advisor and has received a Certificate of Excellence from the influential travel site.

Begin your journey by boarding the historic narrow-gauge WP & YR railway, built in 1888 during the peak days of the Klondike Gold Rush. Sit back and relax in a vintage passenger carriage as you retrace the original route to White Pass Summit, passing Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point, and Dead Horse Gulch. Enjoy a scenic panorama of snow-topped mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterways, tunnels, and points of historic interest. See the original Klondike Trail, worn by the footfalls of the thousands who tramped along the route with dreams of making their fortune. On arrival in Fraser, B.C., the group switches to bikes for the downhill cruise back to Skagway. Along the way, your guide will fill you in on fascinating details of this breathtaking region and entertain you with tales of exciting episodes from the rollicking days of the Klondike Gold Rush. The perfect all-in-one Skagway shore excursion, and one that history- and nature-lovers say is among our best Skagway shore excursions, the White Pass Train and Bike tour is sure to be a highlight of your Alaskan adventure!
