For More Information

Mon - Sat 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

All aboard for one of the world’s most famous scenic train journeys! Travel the same route that the Klondike stampeders used during the gold rush of 1898 aboard the historic White Pass train! You’ll travel in a vintage carriage from Skagway all the way to Canada’s Yukon Territory on the Bennett Lake Scenic Journey. Your route on this classic Skagway train journey covers 67.5 miles to the town of Carcross in the Yukon, passing through a wonderland of snow-capped peaks, towering forests, crystal lakes, and cascading waterfalls. Along the way you’ll stop off at the 1903 Bennett Station for a browse through the historic White Pass Museum and a walking tour of the historic gold rush townsite, followed by a hearty lunch back on-board as the train travels beside the placid beauty of Lake Bennett toward Carcross. Meet your guide at the Carcross train depot to continue along the scenic Klondike Highway for a different viewpoint on your return journey! Visit sights not accessible from the railroad such as Emerald Lake and Carcross Desert before returning to Skagway.

This exclusive Skagway train journey goes further into the Yukon Territory than most other White Pass train excursions, which only go as far as White Pass Summit. Enter the Southern Lakes Region of Canada as the railroad wraps around a remote section of Bennett Lake not accessible by any other way. This exclusive journey is Tuesday through Saturday, but limited seating means it’s advisable to book early. This fantastic scenic train journey is a chance to experience areas of incredible natural beauty that are otherwise only accessible by hiking the famous Chilkoot Trail. It’s an epic all-day adventure that is truly unforgettable! The 7:45 a.m. departures begin with the train first and the Klondike highway second while the 9:45 a.m. departures operate in reverse order.

Bus Trip to Carcross and TrainFirst, Jamison, our driver, was exceptional: lots of photo ops along the way, very informative, a terrific experience. The train was a different experience, which perhaps could have been handled better. At Bennett Lake, (the deserted town), the train picked up hikers, about 15-20 to take on to Skagway. We had a routine stop at Canada border in Fraser which turned into an hour and twenty-minute wait because the hikers didn't have their papers in order. When we got to Skagway everything was closed including the train station gift shop. They knew we were going to be late and they all went home anyway. It ended on a sour note.

Skagway to Yukon tripCoach trip to Carcross in the Yukon with a very informative driver who had a good sense of humour. He showed us many beautiful lakes and special places along the route. The train trip back was stunning along lakes, cliffs overlooking waterfalls, snow-capped mountains and a small bear was alongside the track which was an added bonus. Highly recommend this trip and it was our favourite Alaskan tour.

White Pass Railway.Who would ever think that a 4-hour rickety train ride that never exceeds about 20 miles per hour but climbs to some 3000 feet above where it began can be the thrill of a lifetime? Well, in this part of The Yukon, you will see sheer cliffs over a mile high - not to mention knowing it was cut through the roughest terrain you've ever seen - before the Twentieth Century. All to get prospectors dreaming of finding gold and getting rich through the mountains and valleys

Bennett Lake Scenic Tour - AWESOME DAY TRIPAwesome. You'll be glad you did the whole-day trip. We booked direct with Alaska Shore Tours and saved $$ compared to booking through the cruise ship. Picking up the ticket and getting on board was very easy. Sit on the left side of train facing up the mountain if you can - it's more scenic. Great narrated tour. Turkey sandwich, chips, cookie lunch was good and having water bottles provided was refreshing. Check out the northern lights fabric in the quilt kiosk in Carcross. Our bus driver Brian took us to Carcross Desert, Emerald Lake and Alaska/Yukon signs for photo ops as we drove back to Skagway. He even stopped 3 times for us to get bear pics. Still had plenty of time to visit all the shops in Skagway.
