Description

When you join this experience, you’re stepping into a local kitchen, not a studio or a show. It’s a relaxed, 2-hour cooking class where you’ll cook, eat, and spend time the way many people here do at home.

You’ll meet near the cruise ship dock and take a short walk to the kitchen space. Once inside, you’ll get settled, meet your group, and go over what you’ll be making. The menu is built around Wild Alaskan salmon and simple Southeast Alaskan dishes. Nothing fancy or complicated. Just good food made with care.

You’ll be hands-on from the start. Chopping, seasoning, cooking, and asking questions as you go. If you’ve never cooked before, that’s fine. If you cook a lot at home, you’ll still enjoy learning how locals work with these ingredients. The pace is easy, and there’s plenty of guidance, so no one feels rushed or out of place.

As you cook, there’s time to talk about local food, daily life in Alaska, and where the ingredients come from. It’s casual and social, more like cooking with friends than taking a formal class.

Once everything is ready, you’ll sit down together and enjoy the meal you’ve made. You’ll eat well, relax, and share conversation before heading back to your ship. It’s a simple, welcoming way to spend part of your day and get a real taste of local life.
